The city of Portsmouth is to the west and is home to the historic dockyards of the Royal Navy, with attractions such as the Marie Rose and HMS Warrior, as well as the modern Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays.
There are many beautiful walks in the local countryside, including part of the South Downs Way. Along the coast you will also find some great beaches, including on of the best in the south of England at West Wittering. Another big attraction to the area is the horse and motor racing event at nearby Goodwood, which include the world famous Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival.
