Finding, optimising and maximising Development Land

Our Development Consultants work exclusively for landowners. Between all our private and public landowning clients, there are over 15,000 homes in the pipeline, making Henry Adams the largest independent development consultants in the South of England. With this level of exposure, comes daily interaction with developers, councils, planning consultants and architects, which helps us to identify even the most unlikely development opportunities.

As a Consultancy, we have chosen to act exclusively for landowners (or prospective landowners) in the private and public sector. This means that we sit firmly on the side of the landowner in any negotiations to avoid any conflict of interest and ensure we always maximise opportunities and deliver best value for our clients.

Identifying development opportunities and being able to achieve development deals can make a significant difference to peoples lives. It can transform farming businesses, provide for future generations and (if done well) provide new infrastructure in the local area. We have become experts in finding unseen hope value and maximising this in the quickest time possible.

We appreciate that development is not always about achieving the maximum number of new houses. For example, farms can be complex, with good and poor land, historical areas of landfill, the potential for solar farms and battery sites, existing houses to protect or sensitive sites to avoid. There might also be agricultural tenancies in place that need to be considered. Many of our clients have other objectives, such as the conversion of farm buildings, ensuring there is still a viable farming business or safeguarding the quality of any new development, so it is sympathetic to its surroundings. All of this balanced against optimising value.

All landowners will have a feeling or preference, for how far they want to take any development opportunity. For example, some landowners might not want to incur any cost in taking their land forward, and there are several options for facilitating this. On the other hand, landowners may wish to pursue with site appraisals and the promotion of land themselves. We can assist in all circumstances and will tailor our services to suit your individual needs.
