Why live in Haslemere?

Haslemere’s close proximity to London has made this lovely town hugely popular with commuters – Waterloo is just 49 minutes by train and travelling by car is just as easy with the A3 on our doorstep.

However, its greatest allure is our beautiful properties; we have more than 100 listed buildings in Haslemere alone making this a commuter town with a strong sense of history. You’ll find substantial detached family homes, generous gardens and attractive apartments with amazing views over the beautiful English countryside. There are also many high achieving state and private schools in the area covering primary years, including Camelsdale, Grayswood and Highfield & Brookham, through to The Royal School sixth form.

You’ll find a good selection of places to eat and drink in the town, from pubs and cafés to independent restaurants and popular chains with plenty more cosy pubs to be discovered in the surrounding villages. There’s an interesting mix of convenience shops and quirky independent boutiques and a monthly Farmers’ Market while the biannual Haslemere Charter Fair that’s been running since 1393 brings the High Street to life with live music and fairground style attractions.

The countryside around Haslemere is breathtaking. The Devil’s Punchbowl near Hindhead is a great place to explore and the deep curve of the natural amphitheatre gives you some amazing views of the local landscape. If you’re into sports, there’s the well-equipped Haslemere Leisure Centre’s facilities, some outstanding sports clubs, including the Thursley Cricket Club, which we’re proud to sponsor, and the non-league Shottermill and Haslemere Football Club that plays on the Woolmer Hill Sports Ground.

If you’d like to buy, sell or let a property in Haslemere, get in touch with your local team and discover the Henry Adams difference for yourself.
