Henry Adams cyclists pedal ‘up hill and down dale’ for a local cause

On 29 June a group of cyclists from Henry Adams in Chichester will be taking on the challenge of pedalling along 50 miles of the South Downs Way in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Partner David Adams came up with the suggestion which will see property professionals from our development, land & planning departments cycling from Winchester to Chichester, a route which takes in climbs of thousands of feet.

Martin Curry, who leads Henry Adams’s fundraising support for the St Wilfrid’s Dreambuilding campaign, will be among those in the saddle on Friday 29 June.

“I am pretty sure most of us did not quite know what we were letting ourselves in for when we agreed, but now we have started training we sure do!” he grimaced. “Clearly when you think South Downs you think hills, but there are an awful lot of them between Winchester and Chichester and some of us are definitely not athletes - yet!”

The big cycle challenge is in aid of St Wilfrid’s Dreambuilding campaign to build a new, purpose-built hospice building in Bosham which is designed to meet the growing and changing needs of the patients and to provide extra support for their family members for many years to come.

“It’s such a fantastic cause and we are all determined to raise as much as we can to help with the Dreambuilding project so that will spur us on,” added Martin. “The training certainly hasn’t been easy but then we’re up for a challenge and any sponsorship support will be greatly appreciated to make our madness even more worthwhile.”

More information on the Dreambuilding project can be found at dreambuilding.org.uk and for more information on sponsoring Martin, David and their cycling colleagues, click on this link - South Downs Cycle Challenge.

Thank you for your support - all the cyclists and the Dreambuilding team really appreciate every £1 donated.
