Chichester - in the UK’s top 20 ‘best places to live’

Chichester once again features in The Sunday Times list of the top 20 ‘best places to live 2017’ in the UK, and we think that’s quite right too!

“It’s wonderful to see Chichester recognised as one of the ‘best places to live’ in Britain - of course, we already knew that but it’s still great to see it in the national media!” said Simon Smith, partner at our Chichester office.

The Sunday Times highlights the numerous outdoor activities afforded by sea and the the South Downs, the proximity to Goodwood, our local schooling and the ‘serious culture’ at the Festival Theatre, New Park cinema, The Novium Museum and Pallant House Gallery.

“For us, the market has already got off to a strong start this year which is very encouraging and buyers are out viewing in higher numbers than we’ve seen for some time,” added Simon.

“Demand for Chichester certainly outweighs supply in a number of sectors of the market, in particular for those looking to downsize and move here. We have taken on some really spectacular properties this spring which are generating early interest, and they are coming to the market on a weekly basis.

“Notably we have exceptional new apartments at 44 West Street in the heart of the city and a stunning modern townhouse within walking distance of the main shops as well as a property with huge potential  which backs onto the city walls and has attracted multiple offers.”

Steve Tickner, who is also a partner based in our Chichester sales office, added:  “We’re very blessed to be based here as we get to market a great variety of property within Chichester itself as well as coastal homes and country cottages in the surrounding villages.

“And with new instructions, new buyers, and Chichester being hailed as one of the best places to live in the whole country, we’re looking forward to a steadily busier market as we head towards spring and summer.”
