Cuddly penguins inspire young designers

Children at local infant, junior and primary schools have been designing homes for two cuddly penguins, Iggy & Louie, for a competition run by Henry Adams estate agency.

The children at Bishop Tufnell CE Infant and Junior School, Rose Green Infant and Junior School, and St Mary’s Catholic Primary, were all challenged to use the power of their imaginations to create a perfect home for the penguins, with some amazing and inspiring results.

Henry Adams’s partners and managers joined in the fun and went along to each school inviting the children to take part and then returning to announce the winners. “It was lovely to have the opportunity of vising both Bishop Tufnell Junior and Infants Schools again although it was surprisingly difficult to choose the best designs,” said Richard Longhurst, partner at Henry Adams in Middleton on Sea.

“The children responded positively to the challenge of creating a new home for Iggie and Loui, with nearly one hundred entries received. They came up with some wonderful creations and everyone had clearly put a huge amount of effort into making sure the penguins would have the best possible place to live.”

The two winning designers in each school received a toy penguin and a runner-up in each year group received chocolate penguin lollies kindly provided by Dawn Shrives of Le Salon Du Chocolat, Chichester.

Mr Shane Morton, Executive Headteacher, Bishop Tufnell CE Infant and Junior School, Middleton on Sea, said, “The Henry Adams Penguin Competition was another great success this year and the children from Bishop Tufnell really enjoyed taking part. We are very grateful to the team from Henry Adams who support our school in so many ways, sponsoring competitions and other activities such as our school project to promote local shops and businesses.  I hope that our partnership will continue to thrive in 2017.”

With many local schools joining in the challenge, more than 800 designs were created for Iggy & Louie, by children across the region, making them the luckiest penguins ever and they’ve now found their perfect homes for 2017!
