Henry Adams Sponsors Walk to School Scheme

James Grillo partner at Henry Adams, Haslemere proudly sponsors Camelsdale Primary School’s new initiative to encourage as many as children as possible to walk to school. James and Dee Tickner, our Community Liaison Coordinator were privileged to join the staff and children at school during the launch.

Eleanor Togut, Project Coordinator for Living Streets, the everyday charity for walking, invited children to join in their exciting Walk to School scheme. Eleanor led a fun and lively assembly where children were asked to consider the benefits of walking, both for themselves and the environment. Children were also delighted to be introduced to Strider, the foot shaped life-sized mascot on whom the WOW badges are modelled.

For an opportunity to be awarded a WOW badge at the end of each month children have to walk or park and stride to school at least twice a week. Earlier in the day Eleanor met with the newly appointed Junior Road Safety Officers to answer their questions and encourage them in their vital role of keeping the children at Camelsdale primary safe.

James and Dee are looking forward to returning to school in February to present the first set of badges to the children; I wonder how many we will have to award? Good luck Camelsdale Primary-keep striding!
