Promotion at Henry Adams Rural team

Henry Adams has announced that Andrew Thomas will become a partner in the business with effect from 1 April 2022. He will take over the responsibility for the Rural Department.

Andrew joined Henry Adams Rural in 2020 where he has worked alongside Simon Lush, one of the founders of Henry Adams LLP in 1990. Henry Adams Rural now works on behalf of an influential and diverse range of clients across the southeast from their offices in Chichester and Petersfield.

Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2004, Andrew’s career started in the Lake District where he worked for a utility company, liaising with farmers over land access. He later managed a portfolio of historic houses, farmland, heather moors and commercial property. In 2008 he moved to Midhurst with his family and joined a national firm of rural consultants where he led a growing team for 12 years before joining Henry Adams.

Andrew now specialises in agricultural, equestrian, horticultural and rural property matters, such as tenancy negotiations, red book valuations, utility schemes, subsidies, business strategy and planning.

Andrew Thomas, Partner at Henry Adams Rural, said, “It was a pleasure to return to Chichester and work alongside Simon Lush. It’s refreshing to see a firm where there’s such a strong connection between their development, planners, valuers and surveyors with everyone giving really valuable input, or finding new opportunities for every client.

“It’s quite rare these days to even see so many specialists share the same office and I’m starting to understand why Henry Adams is one of the most respected in our rural community.”

Simon Lush, who is acknowledged to be one of the top agricultural surveyors in the Southeast, will be stepping down from the partnership. He will however continue to work with Henry Adams as an active consultant, serving the many farming clients he has accumulated over the years.

Chairman of Henry Adams, Philip Jordan, added, “I would like to thank Simon for his enormous contribution to the success of Henry Adams over more than 30 years. This is a well-deserved promotion for Andrew who has many years of experience in this specialist area. I know that he already has a number of exciting plans for the continued development and growth of this important part of our business.”

Andrew Thomas can be reached on 07402 503020 and 01243 215839 or by email at andrew.thomas@henryadams.co.uk.
