Celebrating 25 years with Henry Adams group

Congratulations to Steve Tickner, partner at Henry Adams residential sales office in Chichester, who has clocked up a terrific 25 years with the estate agency group this February.

Steve joined Neal Smith Partnership in 1997 which subsequently merged with Henry Adams in 2002.  On his first day, he was welcomed by founding partner, Nigel Smith - and by an unusual twist of fate, Steve now works alongside Nigel’s son Simon, who is also a partner at Henry Adams.

The initial decision to join Neal Smith was easy when Steve was first approached by Nigel. He’d already built up more than 15 years of experience and knew immediately that this was the right opportunity - a decision that’s certainly stood the test of time.

Steve said, “I already knew and respected Nigel as our paths had crossed as competitors. And the rest, of course, is history.”

He joined Neal Smith Partnership in Chichester and later managed their Middleton on Sea office. After becoming a Partner and overseeing both Bognor Regis and Rose Green, Steve was involved in the successful merger with Henry Adams.

In 2016 Steve returned to Chichester where he’s been busy selling homes in and around the West Sussex city and coastline alongside Simon Smith.

Sadly Simon’s father Nigel passed away in 2020 but Simon and Steve have continued to build on his legacy of hard work and strong ethics, values reflected throughout Henry Adams. The successful working relationship has continued to the next generation.

Steve added, “The values of Henry Adams are what make us the company we are - and that’s what people seem to like about us. They can trust us to do the right thing at the right time.

“And although we’ve seen many, many tech changes over the past 25 years, it’s probably most surprising just how similar the important things still are. Estate agency really is all about people and relationships. That’s one of the reasons when lots of people come back to instruct us for their next move which is the part of the job I find extremely rewarding.”

To celebrate his 25-year milestone, Gareth Overton, head of residential sales at Henry Adams, presented Steve with a Mont Blanc pen and a bottle of champagne.

Simon Smith, partner at Henry Adams Chichester, added, “I’d like to thank Steve for playing such an essential part in the success of Henry Adams over the years, especially here in Chichester. As anyone who’s met Steve can tell you, he’s a real gentleman, a lovely guy, and he’s a pleasure to work with. So here’s to many more years of helping people move home in Chichester!”
