Tennis mural unveiled by Henry Adams Billingshurst

Our Head of Sales, Gareth Overton, went along to Tennis Sussex's 'Club of the Year' in Billingshurst on Thursday 29 July for the formal opening of the street-art mural on their tennis practice wall.

As lead sponsors of the project, which involved local young designers and South East charity, U Can Spray, Henry Adams were delighted to lend our support to this successful village sports club.

Gareth was joined by Amber Cameron, senior negotiator from our Billingshurst office, for afternoon tea at the event, where they were met by members of the tennis club committee including the chairman, Richard Cordy, and the graffiti artists who created the mural.

Talented young designer, Finley, won a local competition and his winning entry was then transformed into larger-than-life format by a team from U Can Spray.

U Can Spray is a registered charity based in Sussex which aims to make social change through the art of spray painting in street art style.

Gareth said, “Supporting our local communities is always important to us at Henry Adams but this project has been exceptionally inspiring.

“Billingshurst Tennis Club has brought together young designers and a unique charity to create a dynamic and fun artwork which also has a practical use for tennis members looking to improve their strokes. To be honest, I’m more of a golfer so I think the player spray-painted on the mural might stand a good chance against me!  I’m sure though that lots of players will enjoy perfecting their game in this new street-art setting and the club will continue to go from strength to strength - and you never know, they might produce the next Novak Djokovic!”

Richard Cordy, chairman of Billingshurst Tennis Club thanked Gareth and all at Henry Adams, as well as their other sponsors, for all their support which enabled the project to be completed so successfully.

The tennis club has four floodlit courts where members of all ages play social and competitive matches and new joiners are always welcome. For more information, visit https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/billingshursttennisclub or visit their Facebook page.
