Chichester Estate Agents & Letting Agents

Henry Adams has two offices in Chichester. Our head office on Baffins Lane, in the heart of the historic city, offers an unusually broad range of property-related services encompassing residential sales, rural and agricultural services, commercial properties, development land, new homes and planning. We also have a fine art salesroom on the site and run a monthly auction of antiques and pictures, furniture, clocks, jewellery, ceramics and more.  Our second office, on Southgate, is a dedicated lettings agency and provides property management services for hundreds of local properties. We consider ourselves very lucky to be working in a city that blends so many different architectural styles, from elegant Georgian buildings to contemporary new apartments and waterside properties overlooking the harbour, and we are delighted to support so many people with their diverse property enquiries through our ‘simply different’ service offering.

Why live in Chichester?

“In 2013 The Sunday Times listed Chichester as one of the top places to live in the UK with ‘something for everyone’ – and they were not wrong.
Chichester is both a cathedral city and a county town and home to some of the oldest churches and buildings in Great Britain. There are many well-regarded public and state schools in the local area catering for students up to 18 years of age, with further and higher education options available from Chichester College, West Dean College and the University of Chichester. The presence of such good schools has always made Chichester very attractive for those looking for the perfect place to raise a family.

Chichester’s city centre is a shopper’s paradise, with many of the biggest retail names (John Lewis, Marks and Spencers, Champneys, Jack Wills, Waterstones) and a host of independent boutique stores. We have a great selection of places to eat and drink here, from elegant restaurants to cosy cafés and pubs, with the majority located along the city’s four main streets (North Street, South Street, East Street and West Street).

Turning to the recreational facilities, Chichester boasts a number of public parks including Priory Park in the heart of the city. There are gym facilities available at the Chichester Tennis and Racquets Fitness Club and at Westgate Leisure Centre, where you will also find a large swimming pool and a skate park. Head down to the Chichester Canal for a spot of fishing (during the season) or to the Chichester Gate Cinema for the latest blockbuster. If sailing is your thing, Chichester Harbour is a sailor’s haven and home to several sailing clubs including Itchenor, Bosham and Dell Quay to name but a few.

Chichester Cathedral on West Street dominates the skyline and, on summer afternoons, the cathedral grounds are often dotted with local people enjoying a picnic. In the evenings, the Cathedral plays a central part in the city’s nightlife by hosting classical music events.

There is so much to do in the local area that you will find yourself spoilt for choice. You could spend the day on one of the many local beaches (West Wittering is very close and particularly attractive), stretch your legs on the stunning South Downs to the north of the city or catch a show at the Chichester Festival Theatre before it heads off to a permanent home in London’s West End.

Whatever you are looking for in life there’s a good chance you will find it in Chichester. The local Henry Adams team would be delighted to provide the professional services you need to help you with your search.”
