A rich heritage that speaks volumes about us
The business we have today was founded as Wyatt & Son in 1826 by Mr Edward Wyatt who was a farmer in Chidham. He decided to extend his farming interests by becoming an agricultural valuer before expanding again to take in auctioneering and eventually surveying. The business traded as Wyatt and Son for 160 years, and was the oldest family firm of Chartered Surveyors in Chichester.
The late Henry Adams who was a Chartered Surveyor and Auctioneer joined Wyatt & Son in 1956 and subsequently became Senior Partner. After the business briefly traded as Prudential in the late 1980’s the business took his name in 1990.
We owe it all to Henry who took the business forward and his experience in property, surveying and auctioneering within our rural communities served him well. It ensured the Henry Adams name would become synonymous with expert property services and grow into the leading multidisciplinary firm of estate agents, chartered surveyors and fine art auctioneers it is today.
