Emsworth Estate Agents & Letting Agents

Our Emsworth office is located on North Street and provides sales and lettings services for an area that extends from the rural villages of Rowlands Castle and Westbourne down through Emsworth and over the water to Hayling Island. We are therefore used to dealing with a very broad range of property types ranging from new builds to historic buildings, rural cottages to town houses and retirement apartments to waterfront homes. Many people move here to enjoy the best of town, country and coastal life, and an even greater number head here for their holidays, so the Henry Adams Holiday Lets division is also located in our Emsworth office and aims to find you the perfect holiday home to rent, wherever you would like to be in West Sussex or Hampshire. It’s all part of the ‘simply different’ service that you get with Henry Adams.

Why live in Emsworth?

“Emsworth was once a port and fishing village that was known for boat building, rope making and oyster farming. While many of these traditions are long gone – and the former village has become a town – Emsworth has managed to retain much of its old-fashioned charm. There are many artistic people living and working in the local community today and, once a year, many of them throw open their studio doors to allow visitors to view their work on the Emsworth Art Trail. The Emsworth Horticultural Society also holds an annual fair over the August Bank Holiday, which includes demonstrations of ancient crafts such as glass blowing, wood turning, falconry and bee keeping. So it is clear that Emsworth is one place that will always be proud of its roots.

There are some very good schools in Emsworth and the wider area, including St. James Primary School, Emsworth Primary School, Warblington Secondary School and Bourne Community College. The town also has more than its share of useful independent shops, with a butcher, wet fishmonger, florist, delicatessen and bank to supplement the usual selection of supermarkets, so you really can find anything you need on the doorstep. In fact in a recent survey Emsworth received the highest ‘shopper approval rating’ of all of the shopping centres in the Borough!

We are also spoilt by the number of popular pubs, bars and restaurants in Emsworth, such as 36 On The Quay (where you can enjoy fine dining with a waterside view) and Fat Olives, which occupies what was once a fisherman’s cottage. Head over to Hayling Island and you’ll find another 50+ bars and restaurants to choose from.

Of course one of the major attractions of this area is the water. It’s a real paradise for sailors, with beautiful waterside properties lining Emsworth Yacht Harbour and a choice of local clubs including Emsworth Sailing Club and Emsworth Slipper Sailing Club. Hayling Island is equally popular, with its reputation as the spiritual home of windsurfing and miles of glorious seafront overlooking the Isle of Wight, the Solent and Selsey Bill.

All in all this is a glorious stretch of the country and somewhere that appeals to homebuyers and holiday makers alike. If you could see yourself living here, the Henry Adams team at Emsworth would be delighted to show you what’s on offer.”

Matthew Inker, Manager, Henry Adams Emsworth
