Full description

This well presented home is located within the prestigious Sea Lane private estate and enjoys a quiet cul-de-sac position, just a short walk from the beach.

The property is approached via the gravel driveway, providing ample parking and leading to the detached garage. The house itself sits in a slightly elevated position with a few steps leading up to the covered porch area and front door. Once inside, the property measures 2,150 sqft of surprisingly spacious accommodation with the well proportioned rooms arranged over two floors. Notable features include a very impressive 37ft sitting/dining room which spans the full width of the property, has a feature fireplace and doors leading out to the covered patio and garden beyond. The kitchen/dining room benefits from a separate utility room, is located at the front of the property and has an elevated view of the front garden and driveway. The ground floor bedroom is a generous double room and is complemented by the wet room, ideal for guests.

Stairs rise from the entrance hall to the first floor landing where three further bedrooms will be found. All of the bedrooms are spacious in size and benefit from having fitted or built-in storage cupboards. The family bathroom has space for a separate walk-in shower and is complemented by a separate shower room with toilet and wash basin, ideal for busy family life. This additional shower room could potentially be accessed via one of the bedrooms to create an en-suite if desired.

Outside, the rear garden enjoys a westerly aspect and a high level of privacy. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a large covered patio area and mature trees and borders.

Situation

The development of modern Middleton began after World War I and was largely the achievement of Captain Coldicott around the early 1920's. Later development of the estate was continued by the Linfoot family but always with a preference for well spaced properties using traditional designs and materials which is still evident today. The Sea Lane estate is now recognised as an 'Area of Special Character' and is regarded as being a highly desirable location.

Middleton offers a range of local amenities with sailing facilities available at Felpham, along with a sports centre with swimming pool and golf club. The cathedral city of Chichester and the famous Goodwood motor circuit are some 11 miles away.

Why live in Middleton-on-Sea?

The development of modern Middleton began after World War I, when Captain H Rowlands S Coldicott purchased great swathes of farmland with a plan to create both a residential estate and a village community.

This led to the development of the private Sea Lane Estate, which is still a sought-after residential area today thanks to its proximity to the sea and local shops. There are also many pretty thatched properties in the area along with small retirement apartments, bungalows and large family homes that enjoy direct access to the sea while, in neighbouring Felpham, we have the glorious private Summerley Estate.

Middleton-on-Sea is within easy reach of Chichester and Bognor Regis and is a perfect setting for family life. We have two local schools, including the Bishop Tufnell Primary School and the Felpham Community College for secondary students, along with a day nursery for pre-school children. We also have a good range of shops for such a small village, including coffee shops, a Post Office, a family butcher, a general store, newsagent, fish and chip shops, gift shops, a florist and some friendly pubs.

At low tide, Middleton-on-Sea’s sandy beach stretches from Littlehampton to Bognor Regis and is a favourite for local dog walkers and those who enjoy the fresh air and tranquillity of the sea.  Elmer Sands, a mile east of Middleton, is a particular beauty spot, enhanced by the interesting rock islands that were built as a sea defence two decades ago and which have left rock pools and safe areas for swimming and beginner water sports. Over in Felpham you’ll find beachfront cafés, the Arun Leisure Centre, which has a swimming pool and a well equipped gym, and public tennis courts next to the Promenade.
