Full description

A viewing of this three bedroom detached bungalow is thoroughly recommended to appreciate the accommodation offered and the huge potential it has for modernisation and conversion. Not only is the property situated in a popular and quiet residential area in Middleton-on-Sea, close to the village facilities, it also has a view from the kitchen and dining room over the neighbouring recreation grounds and is offered for sale with the advantage of no onward chain.

The accommodation generously measures 1,638 Sqft and unusually offers three reception rooms including a good size sitting room, a separate dining room and a double glazed conservatory. The dining room and kitchen could be combined if desired to create a modern open plan heart of the home kitchen/dining room. There are two double bedrooms, each overlooking the rear garden plus a small single bedroom, currently used as a study. The bathroom has been enlarged by reducing the size of bedroom three to create space for both a bath and walk-in shower cubicle. This could be reversed if a larger third bedroom was required. Adjacent to the bathroom is a separate WC.

Outside, the property is situated on a corner plot. A driveway providing off-road parking leads to the sizeable double garage. The garage has an integral personal door into the property as well as a rear door into the garden. Again this could be converted to provide additional accommodation if desired, subject to all the necessary planning regulations and consents. The southerly facing rear garden offers a high level of privacy, is well established and is mostly laid to lawn with mature borders creating a high level of privacy.

Situation

The village of Middleton offers a range of local facilities including pharmacy, post office, newsagents and hardware store. Nearby sailing facilities are available at Felpham along with sports centre with swimming pool and golf club. The cathedral city of Chichester and the famous Goodwood motor circuit can be found within approximately eleven miles from Middleton-on-Sea.

Why live in Middleton-on-Sea?

The development of modern Middleton began after World War I, when Captain H Rowlands S Coldicott purchased great swathes of farmland with a plan to create both a residential estate and a village community.

This led to the development of the private Sea Lane Estate, which is still a sought-after residential area today thanks to its proximity to the sea and local shops. There are also many pretty thatched properties in the area along with small retirement apartments, bungalows and large family homes that enjoy direct access to the sea while, in neighbouring Felpham, we have the glorious private Summerley Estate.

Middleton-on-Sea is within easy reach of Chichester and Bognor Regis and is a perfect setting for family life. We have two local schools, including the Bishop Tufnell Primary School and the Felpham Community College for secondary students, along with a day nursery for pre-school children. We also have a good range of shops for such a small village, including coffee shops, a Post Office, a family butcher, a general store, newsagent, fish and chip shops, gift shops, a florist and some friendly pubs.

At low tide, Middleton-on-Sea’s sandy beach stretches from Littlehampton to Bognor Regis and is a favourite for local dog walkers and those who enjoy the fresh air and tranquillity of the sea.  Elmer Sands, a mile east of Middleton, is a particular beauty spot, enhanced by the interesting rock islands that were built as a sea defence two decades ago and which have left rock pools and safe areas for swimming and beginner water sports. Over in Felpham you’ll find beachfront cafés, the Arun Leisure Centre, which has a swimming pool and a well equipped gym, and public tennis courts next to the Promenade.
