Henry Adams School Projects: Class of 2015 / 2016 - Autumn Term

It’s been seven years since Henry Adams first got involved in supporting various local schools through sponsorship, school activities and many other endeavours. In fact, we’re pleased to say, that each year our school calendar of events gets busier and more exciting, with the last academic year being no exception.

Just like the children in the schools we’ve been working in, we’ve also been having fun and learning lots to boot! We’ve been involved with all manner of fun projects in schools in Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire; from Camelsdale Primary School in Haslemere to St James’ CE Primary School in Emsworth.

Now that the class of 2015 / 2016 is over and we are well into the next academic year, we recap on the many exciting undertakings we’ve been involved in from the Autumn through to the Summer Term.

Below are the projects from Autumn term only, but you can read the rest by following these links:

The Queen’s long reign

We began the last academic year at Camelsdale Primary School, Haslemere joining in their celebrations of the Queen’s Long Reign. On this momentous occasion in British history the children took part in the Queen’s Long Dance and later donned their beautifully crafted homemade crowns for which Henry Adams awarded rosettes.

Roald Dahl’s Birthday

September 13th is Roald Dahl’s Birthday and children and staff at St James’ CE Primary School, Emsworth dressed up as one of his fabulous literacy characters, and what a wonderful array of costumes there were. Henry Adams, Emsworth had the unenviable task of choosing two children from each class to award Henry Adams rosettes. Look closely at the photograph of the winners and see how many characters you can recognise!

Families Staff Association

Henry Adams, Bognor Regis was delighted to sponsor a couple of competitions at St Mary's Catholic Primary School. Firstly a Logo Competition for the newly named Families Staff Association. The new school council selected two entries from each class to win a Henry Adams rosette and then chose an overall winner to receive a Henry Adams Star Trophy and National Book Token. Secondly, Henry Adams helped to keep children safe outside their school by supplying a 'No Parking' banner designed by the children.

A Christmas Bear Hunt

We had a Christmas Bear Hunt for all the children in the towns and villages local to many of our offices. Mr. Adams, our friendly bear, was very busy preparing for Christmas and his photo could be found on our for sale boards around our towns and villages. Children were invited to make a note of his various Christmas activities and then go along to their local Henry Adams office and tell them what they had seen him doing.

Festive School Fairs

And finally, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the festive school fairs. Partners and managers could be found hosting a craft or tombola stall while children at West Chiltington First School, Storrington were awarded a Mr. Adams Bear for their fabulous winning wreath entries.
