Friday’s Fundraising Firewalk at Wisborough Green

15th August 2012

Katarina Wilmot is one of a group of brave volunteers who will be doing a Firewalk at The Cricketers, Wisborough Green on Friday 17 August to help raise funds for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust for children with cerebral palsy.

There will be a barbecue and live music from 8pm before the Firewalk takes place at 9pm.  Registered participants receive two hours of training before the event to ensure they are mentally prepared for a short but daunting sponsored walk of 20ft across 800 degree burning coals.

“A friend of mine has a child with cerebral palsy so when I heard about the Firewalk I thought: I wonder if I can do that?!” said Katarina. Her colleagues from Henry Adams, Storrington will be at The Cricketers to support her and have given Katarina a special T-shirt to wear.

You can sponsor Katarina via www.justgiving.com/Kat-Wilmot and further details of the event can be found at www.dvltrust.org.uk.  All money raised will go towards the £575,000 annual costs of running the Dame Vera Lynn Trust School for Parents in West Sussex.
