Our history
Henry Adams started in 1990 with just one office in Chichester, dealing only in agriculture and property management. Now with a network of offices across Sussex and into Hampshire and Surrey, we have grown into one of the leading multi discipline firms of estate agents and chartered surveyors in the region.
We now offer a very wide range of services which is without parallel in the region. The companies and partnerships that make up Henry Adams are all independently and privately owned, with all partners and directors actively involved in the day-to-day running of this proactive and highly respected organisation.

Alex Medhurst set up the Commercial Property division of Henry Adams in 2008. Alex was previously a director of Dean & Dyball Developments prior to which he spent a year’s sabbatical sailing around the world in a yacht race. He has been a partner at consultancy practice Vail Williams for 12 years covering West Sussex and south Hampshire. Now focusing on West Sussex, Surrey and East Hampshire the Commercial department covers all aspects of landlord and tenant representation, valuations, development consultancy and transactional business with a very experienced team of chartered surveyors. Alex has lived in Chichester for over 30 years.

Anthony has worked in West Sussex and the surrounding areas for over 30 years, originally as an Area Planning Officer at Arun District Council. This was followed by 4 years with a regional house builder as a Strategic Land Manager, before setting up his own town planning consultancy, Anthony Greenwood Associates Ltd in 1994. Now part of the Henry Adams organisation, Anthony has set up the specialist town planning arm, covering the south east.

Alan Frost is a Partner of the firm and has overall responsibility for the Residential Sales operation. He joined Henry Adams as a Partner from NealSmith Partnership when the two businesses merged in 2002. Immediately following the merger Alan headed up the New Home Division which expanded over a number of years before returning to Residential Sales. Alan has been in the estate agency industry for over 30 years, so brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to his current role. Alan also oversees all IT issues for the firm, a side of the business which has grown increasingly more important in recent years.

David joined Henry Adams in March 1995 as branch manager of Petersfield office, which he opened. He then spent 5 years in Chichester as branch manager, before moving to Bognor Regis as Area Manager for Rose Green & Middleton on Sea as well. He moved back to Chichester as Partner in charge of residential sales at Neal Smith. He started up the lettings business from Chichester in 2005, and subsequently went to Horsham, to build on the lettings department there. Then he moved back to Bognor Regis in October 2008 to open the new lettings office! Following the sale of the lettings business at Chichester and Bognor Regis, he has started the new Holiday Lettings business, Pallant Holiday Lets. He is ARLA qualified, has an Institute of Management diploma, and a diploma in Residential Lettings and Property Management.
